About the Connect Through Tech (CTT) Department: The Connect Though Tech Department leverages technology to provide programs to older adults that support social connections and help them access the resources and information they need to live independently in an increasingly digital world. The CTT department includes DOROT's long-standing teleconferencing program, University Without Walls (UWW), which connects older adults to a vibrant community of learning and friendship while exploring topics on arts, literature, health, current events, support groups and more. UWW Programs in Russian are available as well. CTT's growing portfolio of programs focuses on teaching and coaching older adults to learn and adopt technology. Unique to DOROT's approach is its strong volunteer base and individualized approach to engaging older people onsite at DOROT or in their homes.

Position Description Summary: The Coordinator of Outreach and Program Development will work with the Director to meet the Department's exciting growth goals. Priorities include attracting and enrolling new program participants and identifying and engaging program partners and facilitators to deliver diverse and program content to meet a broad range of interests and needs of older adults. This includes analyzing, planning and executing extensive outreach, marketing and engagement strategies and developing strong relationships with new and existing partners.
Areas of Responsibility:
Outreach/Participant Recruitment:
* Create, document, execute and analyze multiple outreach plans that successfully engage new and diverse participants, including those who speak Russian and Spanish
* Research and network to identify and communicate with potential referral organizations, program partners and individual facilitators. Communication includes attending events, delivering presentations, emails, phone calls, marketing material mailings and more
* Develop and implement strategies for regular communication with new and existing partners to ensure best possible outcomes for marketing and referrals
* Coordinate all aspects of creation and distribution of marketing materials such as the production of regular catalogs and special promotional flyers, website postings, e-blasts, print placements and potentially social media content
* Liaison and collaborate with DOROT's Development and Communications team regarding marketing materials and media opportunities
* Engage and plan with other DOROT departments for cross-departmental participant referrals and program planning
* Provide back-up support on the information and enrollment process for new participants
Course Development
* Coordinate collection and review of participant interests and feedback to plan targeted course development for both new and existing programming
* Research, develop and implement new classes and discussion groups with new and existing partner organizations, volunteers and paid facilitators to expand the breadth of program offerings
* Review and update onboarding process, professional development and materials for new facilitators, including best practices for teleconference and video facilitation, and encouraging client participation
* Evaluate new courses and program formats
* Coordinate all aspects of class scheduling and program descriptions
Other Essential Duties:
* Collect, track, and maintain related date using DOROT's Client Information and Management System; this involves routine data entry and monthly review of statistics for both internal reports and analysis of trends
* Develop expertise in all technological aspects of existing and developing programs to assist participants, train volunteers and support facilitators
* Work with Director to research and implement new options for older adults to engage with others using technology
* On-board, support and supervise office volunteers and interns
* Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree or higher with three years of professional experience (e.g. education, social services, nonprofit management).
* Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
* Creative, marketing mind-set
* Enthusiasm for the benefits of technology and comfortable with independent learning of new technology
* Marketing and basic graphic design experience
* Interest in working with older adults
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office; video conferencing experience a plus
* Ability to travel throughout the Metro NYC area
* Flexibility to work occasional evening hours for programming and approximately eight Sundays per year
